Spaghetti Fundraiser and other updates
Just a quick note to everyone to bring you up to speed on what's new. First, the Spaghetti Fundraiser was successful and welcome to the new members who joined our ranks at the dinner. We served about 80 dinners and had about 100 people attend. We raised about 1000 dollars from donations, the raffle, the silent auction and memberships. 15 member applications were received at the event. And most importantly, everyone seemed to have a good time. The live music performed by the Scogin family packed the room and was a big hit. It was a good time and I want to personally thank all of you that made it happen.
The Chamber isn't selling flower baskets this year so we have picked up the ball. Rosemary has managed this activity for the Chamber in the past and is heading this up for us. She is off to a great start. We started out with 125 baskets to sell. If you want a basket be sure to give her a call ASAP as they are selling quickly.
The Farmers Market opens on Saturday May 12. We are working on lining up activities, entertainment and we are still accepting vendor applications. The Market will be open from 10 - 3 this year.
Finally, we have a website -- www.fompwa.org. It is fully functional as we speak but it is still a work in progress. Prospective members and individuals wishing to donate can apply and donate from the website. They can do so either with Paypal or a credit card. Donors can even setup a reoccurring donation. You can also find a calendar of events and activities. This email will be added to the blog page and future updates will transition to that location. So be sure to keep an eye on it. There will be other information posted there and any individual wishing to contribute should give us a holler or send us an email. The Farmers Market tab is still in production but will go live soon. Oh, if you have photos, we can use on the webpage please send them to photos@fompwa.org. And last but certainly not least, check out the webpage. Let us know if there is something you think should be added, or if you think something should change. We encourage you to be a part of the process and welcome your input.
Until next time!
